Travel and Tourism Issues – Legislative and Regulatory Priorities

Decisions made in Washington by elected or appointed officials can either help or harm the interests of travel and tourism.  That is why the U.S. Travel Association is constantly lobbying Congress and the Administration on your behalf concerning key travel and tourism priorities.

The information below covers the priority issues that we are currently working on with the 111th Congress and the relevant federal agencies:

Travel Promotion Act of 2008

TIA, TBR and other travel organizations are all working aggressively to pass the Travel Promotion Act legislation during this session of Congress.  This legislation will create a national-level strategic communications effort to clarify U.S. visa and entry policies, and to promote the U.S. as the premier visitor destination in the world.  For more details, click here.
