Tourism Works for America - Legacy Scholarship

Dee Minic, former executive director of Tourism Works for America at TIA, created an undergraduate student scholarship fund as a way to "give something back" to the travel industry following a successful 30-year career in travel
and tourism. Minic personally contributed $5,000 and is seeking other donors to help support an annual $3,000 undergraduate scholarship. "There is a growing need to encourage young people to study tourism, hospitality and recreation," Minic said. "We all know that today's employers demand personnel with the knowledge, skills and the attitude necessary to form a competitive team." The TIA Foundation will administer the
scholarship.
