TIA Foundation – Helping to Educate the Travel Industry Leaders of Tomorrow

The TIA Foundation was established in 1990 to benefit the entire U.S. travel industry through educational and research activities. A Portrait of Travel Industry Employment in the U.S. Economy* - comprehensive, landmark study on the U.S. travel and tourism industry's capacity to create jobs - is an example of research published by the TIA Foundation.

Kissimmee Cup and Foundation Sensation a success at the 2007 International Pow Wow®

Following the great success of the inaugural Kissimmee Cup and Foundation Sensation at International Pow Wow 2006, both events were held again at International Pow Wow 2007 in Anaheim. The annual Kissimmee Cup, hosted by the Kissimmee CVB, was hugely popular, along with the Foundation Sensation, sponsored by Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Preparations are underway for the Kissimmee Cup at International Pow Wow 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Click here for information on the 2008 Kissimmee Cup.

In 1993, the TIA Foundation funded its first graduate school scholarship. Given in the honor of the late William D. Toohey, former TIA president, this TIA scholarship has evolved into an annual award. Today, there are 6 TIA Foundation Scholarships for both graduate and undergraduate students. The TIA Foundation also presents opportunities for your organization to establish "named scholarship" programs to honor important Industry or organization leaders. For example, in 1996 an industry-funded endowed scholarship was established in honor of the late U.S. Commerce Secretary Ronald H. Brown.
